Inspired by an image on the web, I made this cute wall decor on this Valentine’s day, to adorn the walls of our home with flowers of love. 🙂
Making this is quite easy and lots of fun.
Hope you like it!
Materials required:
Square Canvas (If not available use a thick painting pad paper for the base)
Chevron design printed on A4 Sheet (Template attached in procedure)
Printed Heart shape (Template attached in procedure)
Construction paper or any color paper
Craft glue or glue gun
Scissors
Procedure:
- When I planned to make this wall decor, I didn’t have square canvas and hence I chose a 9 x 9 inch white painting pad.
- I printed out a grey chevron background on A4 size paper and cut it into a smaller square than my base. I pasted this on the white base. Template given below:
- Print the heart template given below, cut the heart out and paste it on the chevron design.
- Cut circles out of construction paper of various sizes. I have used pink and red shades.
- You can draw spiral shape on the paper circle and cut it out. I didn’t trace any design . I just started cutting the spirals right away. Start cutting the spiral from a short distance from the edge. The starting should be narrow and the spiral should gradually widen while moving towards the center. This would give the petals a more tapered look.
- Fold the paper from the outer thin edge. and flatten it. This forms the center of the rose. Gradually start rolling the petals smoothly.
- As the fold reaches the end, leave the center part and make this as the base of the flower. Apply glue and attached the flower to the base.
- Arrange these flowers on the heart shape according to your taste.
- Hang this as a wall decor or gift it as a wish to someone special 😉
