Ingredients:
Onion (Medium Size) ———– 2 nos.
(Chopped) Bay leaf ————- 1 No.
Green Peas———————– 1 cup
Chopped Tomato ————— 1 cup
Potato —————————– 1/2 kg
Turmeric Powder ————— 1/4 teaspoon
Garam Masala —————— 1/4 teaspoon
Amchur powder —————- 1/4 teaspoon
Water —————————– 1 cup
Oil ———————————- as required
Salt ——————————– To taste
To Grind:
Cardamom ———————– 2 Nos
Fennel Seeds——————— 1/2 teaspoon
Garlic Pods ———————– 5 Nos
Ginger —————————– 1 inch
Green Chillies ——————- 3 nos.
Chopped Onion —————- 1/2 cup
Method:
- Boil the potatoes and peel the skin off.
- Heat oil in a Kadai and saute all the ingredients mentioned in ‘To Grind” section. Let it cool for some time and grind well.
- In another Kadai heat oil, add bay leaf, green peas, finely chopped onions and saute well. To this, add the ground mixture, chopped tomatoes and fry until dry. Now add water, salt, turmeric powder, garam masala and aamchur powder. Bring it to a boil.
- Now add the boiled potatoes by crushing them into smaller pieces. Take care not to mash them. Bring the mixture to boil.
- When the gravy thickens, add fried onions, turn off the flame and serve hot.
Tip:
If aamchur powder is not available, try adding a few drops of lemon juice.
