Ingredients

For Marinating Chicken

Maida/All Purpose flour    – 1 tbsp
Cornflour                                – 2 tbsp
Chicken                                   – 1 Kg ( Cut into 2 to 3 inch size pieces)
Pepper                                     -2 tsp
Soy sauce                                -1 tsp
Vinegar                                   -1 tsp
White of one egg (beaten well)
Salt to taste

Mix all the above ingredients well with chicken pieces and let it get marinated for 15 mins
Deep fry the chicken  and keep aside.


For Chilli sauce

Dried Red Chillies                    -6 to 8 nos. (if hot)
10 to 12 nos. (if Kashmiri Red chillies)
Vinegar                                       -2 tbsp


Grind it into a paste. While grinding, add little water if needed.

 

To make the manchurian sauce

Garlic (finely sliced and slightly pounded)             – 1.5 tbsp

Ginger (grated or julienned and slightly ponded)   – 1.5 tbsp
Onion                                                                             – 1 no. (Diced)
Spring onion                                                                 – 4 nos
Tomato sauce                                                                – 1 tbsp
Soy sauce                                                                       – 3 tsp
Pepper powder                                                            – 2 tsp
Bell pepper or Capsicum                                           –  1 no. (Diced)
Chicken stock (1/2 cup)  or Chicken boullion (1 cube)

Sugar (1/2 tsp)
Salt to taste

Oil


Method:

  • Heat oil.
  • Add slightly crushed ginger and garlic slices.
  • When it turns golden, add the freshly prepared chilli sauce.
  • Then add tomato sauce, soy sauce and pepper one after another.
  • Increase the flame. When the sauce becomes hot, add onions, spring onions and capsicum pieces.
  • Add chicken boullion and half cup of water. Instead of this you can also add half a cup of chicken stock.
  • Add Salt.
  • When the sauce boils, add fried chicken and mix well. Add a pinch of sugar.
  • Remove from heat after 5 mins and serve hot.

Tips:

This recipe is hot and spicy. You can alter it to suit your taste by increasing or decreasing the quantity of the above ingredients. Have a great time!
