“Color is a power which directly influences the soul.”
-Wassily Kandinsky
Every time I see a slice of a rainbow cake, more than the flavor and delicacy, it is the beauty of the colours that captivate my mind and the foodie inside me. I had this long time desire to try my hands on this baking experiment, which finally materialized on the birthday of someone special to me.
The procedure is actually simple or atleast I decided to keep it as simple as possible. Not starting from scratch, I used the readymade Betty Crocker Vanilla Cake mix and followed the directions in the package. After preparing the batter, divide the batter into six equal parts and add six different food colors. Bake it and layer up with frosting in between. Coat the entire exterior with frosting. I’m not a frosting expert and hence decided to add half sliced cherries along the border. Yup! That’s it! You are all set to celebrate the birthday bash.
Though I am very well aware that this is not a perfect one, this attempt escalated in me, a perfect sense of satisfaction for having tried something which I always thought would be a tough bet!
