Hi Friends,
I’m happy to share with you all, the end-products of my initial quilling attempts, made some six or seven years back.
Paper quilling is the art of creating decorative art items by curling paper strips and arranging them in delicate designs. This art dates back to the 3rd or 4th centuries when nuns created beautiful works of artistry by trimming the golden edges of the Bible. This is a very interesting hobby which can also earn you profitable part time income.
Paper Quilling can be used to make greeting cards,home decor items like wall hangings,scrapbooking,gift wrappers etc.
Things Needed
* Quilling paper (If this is not available we can use ordinary colour papers also)
* Quilling tool or needle(big)
* Paper cutter or scissor
* glue
* string
How to Do
* Cut paper into uniform strips (about 1/2″ to 1″)depending on the size of the design to be created. If the design is too delicate then make the size of the paper strips too thin(around 1/8″)
* Insert one end of the paper into the needle or quilling tool and start rolling it into tight strips
*Release it. Let go of the spiralled roll a little, so there is a little space between the turns of the roll.
*Glue the other end of the paper strip to the roll. Depending on the size of the design, the looseness of the roll can be fixed.
Basic PatternsSome of the basic patterns you can make are tight rolls, loose rolls, leaves, tear drops,squares, rectangles, triangles, bell shapes etc.,
