Flower Pot Card – Tutorial with templates

This is a very beautiful yet easy to make handmade greeting card.

Materials required

Card stock

Green – 3.5 inches x 9 inches (for the pot)

– 2.5 inches x 4.5 inches (for the sliding message base)

Cream – 2.25 x 4.25 inches ( for the sliding message note)

Flower stickers

Scallop punch or scallop scissors

Paper Scorer

Glue

beads

Scissors

Steps

1. Score the 3.5 x 9 inches card stock at 2 inches and 5.5 inches from the top.
2. Fold the 2 inches score outward and the next one inwards(forms the base of the pot).
3. Mark 0.5 inches on either sides of the bottom base. Draw a line from the marked points to the flat top. Cut off along that marked lines and this makes the slanting sides of the pot.

Now we have got the perfect pot shape.

You can beautify this according to your taste. Here in this card,I have pasted a checked card stock strip on the outward fold. Also I have pasted a red scalloped card stock from under the fold and embellished the exterior with a bead chain.

To make the sliding message

Cut a rectangular green card stock  piece measuring 2.5″ x 4.5″ and another white one measuring 2.25″ x 4.25″

Paste the white one over the green card stock.

Now insert this into the pot base and make sure that it slides freely. Paste appropriate flower and leaves stickers on the portion of the sliding piece that remains outside of the pot.

Flower pot card is ready now.

You can add any kind of decorations to make it more attractive.
